The Spire only grows.

A tower you build by buying, and collect rent on by holding.

The numbers below are the ones written into the contract. They are immutable — there is no admin key that can change them.

01What is The Spire

The Spire is one token, $SPIRE, trading in a single Uniswap v4 pool. There is no separate game server — the tower is the market. Every buy pushes the tower higher. Whoever puts the most into a Floor claims its Relic — an NFT deed. Awaken that Relic and you become the Floor's Keeper, collecting Rent — the income funded by the Toll that every trade pays.

There are 4,269 Floors. The tower only goes up. When it tops out, the Spire opens and enters its rent-collecting era, The Reign.

02The Climb

The tower's height is set by how much ETH has been raised into the pool, at its all-time high — it ratchets up and never falls. The contract holds the schedule itself: reaching Floor F takes a fixed amount of ETH, rising steeply toward the top, so the last Floors cost far more than the first. Floor 4,269 is reached when that schedule is complete.

  • Buying pushes the tower up. Selling never lowers it — the Floor you reached stays reached.
  • A single large buy can sweep several Floors at once; the buyer wins every Floor they sweep.
  • The higher the Floor, the more POWER it carries — and the more Rent it earns.

03Claiming a Relic

While the tower sits on a Floor, whoever has put the most into that Floor is its leader. When the tower climbs past, the leader wins that Floor's Relic. You Claim it to mint the NFT to your wallet — a tradeable ERC-721 deed (a whale who swept many Floors mints them whenever they choose to spend the gas). A freshly minted Relic is Dormant: it carries the right to become Keeper, but earns nothing until you Awaken it.

One Relic per Floor. Whales who sweep many Floors win them all — capital that pushes the tower up is what earns the deeds.

04Awaken & Keepers

To turn a Dormant Relic into a rent-earning Keeper seat, you Awaken it: lock a fixed amount of $SPIRE (the Floor's stake) into the Floor. Awakened, your Relic earns Rent by its POWER.

Your coins are always yours. The stake is never taken — it's a switch, not a fee. Unlock it any time (go Dormant) and you simply stop earning. Sell or transfer the Relic and it goes Dormant for the new owner to Awaken with their own coins — the deed never carries coins with it.
  • Awaken = hold the Relic and lock the stake. Both are required to earn.
  • Each Floor's stake is fixed by the contract (set from the price curve), and always sized so that winning the Floor already gave you enough $SPIRE to Awaken it.

05Rent & POWER

Every Floor has a fixed POWER — higher Floors carry more. Rent from the Toll is split among all active Keepers in proportion to POWER, continuously.

FloorPOWERMeaning
11base
1,000~31,600mid tower
4,269 (Peak)~278,900top

POWER grows faster than the Floor number (POWER = Floor^1.5), so high Floors are meaningfully richer to hold over the long run. New Keepers joining never dilute Rent already accrued to existing Keepers — they only share in Rent that flows after they Awaken.

06The Toll

The Toll is the tax that funds Rent — Tenants pay the Toll, Keepers collect the Rent. It's paid in ETH. Apart from the launch-window Toll described below and a small NFT royalty, none of it goes to the team.

  • Buy Toll — 1%. A flat 1% on every buy, taken in ETH. It starts funding Rent from the very first buy.
  • Sell Toll — 10% → 1%. Sell right after buying and you pay 10%. It decays 0.1% for every Floor the tower climbs above your highest buy, down to a 1% floor after 90 Floors. The longer you hold as the Spire climbs, the less you pay — settling at 1%. Tokens you received peer to peer are untracked and pay the full 10%.
Launch window — both sides. For the first 15 minutes only, an extra Toll applies to buys as well as sells, starting at 90% and falling linearly to 0%. Buying in those first minutes sends most of your ETH to the Toll instead of into the tower, so racing the opening gains you nothing — waiting the window out costs you nothing. It also makes seizing the whole tower in a single trade prohibitively expensive. This Toll goes to a separate dev address and is not part of Keeper rewards.

Every ordinary Toll splits: 70% into the live Rent pool for Keepers, 30% reserved in the Capstone Vault for the milestones below. The launch-window Toll is the exception — it goes entirely to the dev address and never enters either pool.

07Districts

The tower is split into 43 Districts of 100 Floors — the last one holds the final 69 — the band you navigate by (e.g. "District 12 · Floors 1,101–1,200"). Every District wears one of five themes, climbing from the depths to the top, and each theme tints your Relic's art.

FloorsTheme
Floors 1–800The Undercroft
801–2,000The Bazaar
2,001–3,200The Works
3,201–4,200The Heights
4,201–4,269The Peak

So "Floor 1,204 · The Bazaar" just means that Floor lives in the Bazaar band of the tower.

08Milestones & the Capstone

The Capstone Vault (that reserved 30%) is released in three milestones as the tower climbs — a Slay-the-Spire-style three acts. Each milestone empties the Vault to that point, so a good run gets paid at the first one; nothing sits locked forever. A tranche is split by POWER across the Floors that are Awakened at the moment it fires — a Dormant Relic gets nothing and there is no back-pay, so Awaken before a milestone lands, not after.

09The Reign

When the last Floor is claimed, the Spire tops out and the climb freezes. The tower enters The Reign: all 4,269 Keeper seats are set, the Toll settles to a flat 1%, and 100% of it flows to Rent forever. A Relic becomes a perpetual rent-collecting asset — thin per day, but paid for as long as $SPIRE trades.

The buy wall can never be withdrawn. The ETH raised during the climb sits in the pool as the project's liquidity position. By the time the tower tops out, that position has converted entirely into ETH — it is the raise. The contract permanently refuses to let it be removed: not by the project, not by anyone, not before topping out and not after. It stays as the floor under the price for as long as the pool exists, and it keeps paying sellers out through ordinary trades. Liquidity that anyone else adds later is theirs to withdraw whenever they like — only the launch position is frozen.

This is the arc: The Climb → The Reign. First everyone races to claim and build; then it settles into a landlord economy.

10Relics as NFTs

Every Relic is a standard ERC-721 you fully own and can trade anywhere — OpenSea, Blur, or peer to peer. The art is that Floor's chamber, generated for all 4,269 (District-tinted, with ornate one-offs for Landmark Floors).

  • Selling a Relic transfers the deed only. The Floor stops earning the moment the Relic leaves your wallet, and it arrives Dormant for the buyer to Awaken with their own coins. Your stake does not come back on its own — it stays in the contract, still yours, and you have to return and Unstake that Floor to withdraw it.
  • Secondary sales carry a small royalty (≈5%) that supports the project.

11Risks

$SPIRE is an experimental on-chain game, not an investment. The tower only grows while people keep buying; when buying stops, the climb stops and Rent thins out. Rewards come entirely from the on-chain Toll on trading activity — there is no external yield. Parameters are written into the contract at launch and cannot be changed — there is no owner, no admin key and no upgrade path. Smart contracts carry risk. Never put in more than you can afford to lose. Nothing here is financial advice.

12FAQ

Do I need to Awaken to keep my Relic?
No. You own the Relic regardless. Awakening only turns on Rent; it can be toggled any time.

If I sell all my $SPIRE, do I still collect Rent?
No. Earning requires holding the Relic and keeping the stake locked. Unlock or sell and you stop.

Can the team change the rules later?
No. The parameters are immutable at launch — changing them would break trust, so they're fixed.

Why can't I trade from a Safe or a smart-account wallet?
Floors are credited to the address that signs the transaction. A smart-contract wallet signs through something else — its owner key, or with ERC-4337 a bundler — so the tokens would land in your wallet while the Relic went somewhere else, and there would be no way to get it back. The app detects those wallets and blocks trading rather than let that happen. Use an ordinary EOA wallet.

What happens to a Floor nobody Awakens?
It stays Dormant and earns nothing until someone (the owner, or a buyer of the deed) Awakens it.
